As a therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, I operate from a framework that considers each person’s lived experiences as building blocks to how they think, feel, interact with others, and interpret the world around them. I strive to help my clients build a better understanding of how these experiences may be affecting their ability to move past certain things getting in the way of living a life they desire for themselves and coming into their own.

I find it incredibly meaningful to assist my clients in uncovering deep-rooted challenges and guiding them in reshaping their narrative. By doing so, they can alleviate the distress that their past experiences may have caused. This aspect of the work is what I am most passionate about.

A Bit More About My Approach

In my practice, I operate from a person-centered approach to healing. Person-centered care is an acknowledgment of an individual's unique set of strengths, challenges, and ways of interacting with the world around them and within themselves. Person-centered care focuses more on how the individual can recognize their capacities to manage daily struggles and life challenges and embracing these capacities to live a life of meaning and purpose.

In combination with a person-centered approach, I also provide care from a trauma-informed perspective, meaning, I am always curious about how one's thoughts, emotions, interpersonal dynamics, and decision-making processes are shaped by their past experiences.

It’s possible that you may be carrying unresolved emotional wounds from your past that have not yet been addressed. Together, we will explore the ways in which your past may be influencing your present and work towards empowering your innate ability to heal.

Why choose to work with me?

Although I use a variety of techniques and clinical skills, my favorite “tool” in my toolbox is a focus on the therapeutic relationship. I understand that every person is unique and that a “one-size fits all” approach isn’t going to work for everyone. Ensuring that my clients feel seen, understood, and held in the therapeutic space is really the groundwork to allow for change. My approach is a combination of clinical insight, gentle and curious exploration, and most of the time, lighthearted and down-to-earth.

Professional Background

I chose to pursue Social Work for my undergraduate and graduate studies because I believe in taking a comprehensive view of a person's well-being. As a Social Worker, I have learned to take a strengths-based approach when providing care. This means that we assess the skills, resources, and capacities that each individual possesses to help them achieve the positive changes they desire in their life.
